Flammable solids

Flammable solids are solids that are readily combustible, or that may cause or contribute to fire through friction. Readily combustible solids are powdered, granular or pasty substances that are easily ignited by brief contact with an ignition source and burn quickly.

What it means

The solid can ignite easily and the fire can spread quickly. Fine dust may also form explosive clouds in air.

What to do

Keep away from heat, sparks, open flames and hot surfaces, avoid creating dust, keep containers closed, and follow the extinguishing advice on the SDS.

This is general guidance for the class. Your product's safety data sheet takes precedence.
